How to Save Instagram Reels to Your Gallery (Android & iPhone)

A complete walkthrough for saving Instagram Reels to your phone or computer — free, fast, and without any watermark.

Why saving Reels is tricky

Instagram does not offer a built-in "save video" button for most Reels. You can only bookmark posts inside the app, and the official option to download is limited to your own Reels. That is why so many people look for a simple online tool.

Method 1 — Use an online downloader

This is the fastest method and works on any device:

  • Open the Reel in the Instagram app and tap the share button.
  • Choose Copy link.
  • Paste the link into the downloader box and press Download.
  • The MP4 file saves to your gallery or Downloads folder in seconds.

Method 2 — Save your own Reels in the app

If the Reel is yours, open it, tap the three-dot menu, and select Save video. Instagram lets you download your own content with the original quality.

Method 3 — Record the screen

Screen recording works as a last resort but reduces quality and includes the on-screen UI. Prefer the downloader method whenever possible.

Pro tip

Always download videos from public accounts only, and respect the creator's copyright. If a download fails, refresh the page and try again — Instagram sessions refresh periodically.
