Instagram Video Downloader Not Working? 6 Quick Fixes
Is your Instagram downloader failing or stuck? Here are the most common causes and how to fix them in under a minute.
1. The account is private
Private posts cannot be downloaded because Instagram does not expose them publicly. Ask the account owner to share the video with you, or try a different public post.
2. The link was copied incorrectly
Instagram share links sometimes include extra parameters such as ?igsh=.... Our tool handles these, but make sure the URL starts with https://www.instagram.com/ and contains /p/, /reel/ or /tv/.
3. The post is a photo, not a video
Carousel posts and photo posts contain no video stream, so there is nothing to download. Check that the post actually plays as a video.
4. The server is cold-starting
Free servers sleep when idle. The first request after a pause can take up to a minute — just wait for the spinner to finish.
5. Your internet connection
Slow or unstable connections can interrupt the download. Try again on a stable Wi-Fi network.
6. Cookies need refreshing
Instagram requires a logged-in session for some videos. If a post that worked before now fails, the backend session may have expired and needs a cookie refresh. Retry after a few minutes.
